Curtis, Michigan

Located in the heart of the Manistique Lakes area, Curtis is a popular destination for anglers. Excellent fishing is available on Big Manistique, North Manistique, South Manistique and Milakokia Lakes.  Fish species include: Northern Pike, Small Mouth Bass, Lake Trout, Large Mouth Bass, Tiger Muskie, Walleye, Yellow Perch and pan fish.  Curtis is an unincorporated community governed by Portage Township in Mackinac County. Named for State Senator William L. Curtis, a partner of the Cook, Curtis & Miller Lumber Co. which platted the area in 1906.  Population: 900. Township Offices: P. O. Box 70, Davis St., Curtis, MI 49820, (906) 586-9522.  South Manistique Lake: Walleye, Pike, Bass, Perch, Bluegill, Musky, and Lake Herring.
