St. Ignace is located on the north shore of the Straits of Mackinac in Mackinac County.  It is the third oldest city in the United States. St. Ignace was founded by Father Maquette in 1671, and named for St. Ignatius of Loyola.  St. Ignace is the Mackinac County seat. Population:  2,568.  City Hall:  396 N.
